The light of God that inspires me, moves me, and empowers me. I am but the instrument in the hand of The Potter, and every piece I create is a reflection of His Grace. I want everyone who sees my art to feel the life that is in it.
I have always been guided by an openness to new and innovative approaches to even the simplest processes. Trying new things, while learning at every opportunity, lends itself to a strengthened skillset that shows in the end. Humility in the learning process, and an openness to experimentation, is the key to discovery.
Every piece is a story unto itself, but all are simple in their message: beauty can be found everywhere if we take the time to look. My pieces are intended to reflect this simple reality. Beauty does not require complexity and is best achieved by that which is simple in form and purpose. Notwithstanding, I do, on occasion, venture into holiday themes and "just for fun" creations. Be on the lookout for these special pieces!
We are all clay in the hands of The Master Potter, and appreciating this is a natural consequence of being a ceramist. His hands will hold you, support you, guide you on your journey, but ultimately the clay has its role in the process. Learning to be molded, and being willing to be molded, brings life. Being a ceramist reminds one of this truth.
