My journey through several mediums eventually landed me in ceramics. From sculpting stone to mixing colors in oil paint, all roads seemed to lead to ceramics where so many skills and experiences play a role.
The magical moment of opening a kiln to retrieve a finished piece is unmatched in other art modes. It is not always good, but it can be unforgettable.
I was initially self-taught from my early days in stone sculpture through many other art modes over the years. Over the past several years, however, I have studied under some renowned artists and instructors such that my skillset has become refined without losing my self-taught techniques. This dynamic has resulted in a unique approach reflected in my pieces.
My work is inspired by the Glory of the Creator and all the big and small things often overlooked in daily life. Bringing simplicity to life, and the obscure to center-stage, is the journey, and the majesty. Look for my found objects made part of my creations.
